Center City Opera Theatre Outreach Program
Education & The Center City Opera Theater
The Center City Opera Theater has a deep-rooted commitment to education. Our in-school arts education initiative OPERAtunities in Education works with students and teachers in the tri-county area, providing educational materials, classroom visits by Center City Opera Theater staff and artists, special performances, and discounted tickets to regular shows.
Our Young Artist Program selects advanced students and recent graduates to perform on the Center City Opera Theater stage. Some also participate in the company's educational outreach programs and perform special programs in area schools.
Our Artist Apprentice Program selects, by audition, talented local singers at the very beginning of their careers to cover and understudy the season's major roles. Some participate in the company's educational outreach programs and perform special programs in area schools.
The Center City Opera Theater also sponsors an internship program, working with theater and music students Temple University, Community College of Philadelphia, and other higher education institutions in the Philadelphia area.
