USArtists Sketch PPACS Dancers
October 19, 2007
The Women's Board of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts holds the USArtists: American Fine Art Show each year. It is the largest show of American art in the world.
This year's show was the 16th thus far and was held at the 33rd Street Armory in Philadelphia. This unique fundraiser gives people a chance to see what is available from leading galleries across the country.
This year's show is extra special because our very own students were asked to model for some of the artists. Several ballerinas from PPACS were chosen to be sketched at the show on October 19. Among those chosen were: Amanda Valletta, Samantha DiMatteo, Britney DiMatteo, Ashane Geiger, Santina Palmiere, Jorina Malara, Angela Alexander and Domenica DiSalvatore.
After these students were sketched, the artwork was made available for sale and displayed at the show.
