On Saint Patrick's Day, many festivities took place; which included our annual Irish Potato Contest. Before it began, our talented ballet majors, orchestra and choir performed for Channel 10, Channel 6 and Fox 29 news. Starting off was third grader, Emily Brennan. She sang "Danny Boy" with the choir as her backup. The ballet majors entertained us with an Irish jig, followed by the orchestra with their rendition of "Bonnie Doon and Minstrel Boy". To top off the festivities, our choir ended by singing an Irish medley called "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling". The entire performance was fantastic.

From here, the long awaited Irish Potato Contest finally began. People from different Irish associations came as judges. They included people from Mick Daniels, McFadden's, Stonehouse Pub, Shamrock Pub, Cara Liom, The Irish Pub, and the 2nd Street Irish Society.
