Mardi Gras Celebration
Written By: Nicole Devereaux
February 26, 2008
Our annual Mardi Gras celebration took place on February 5th, 2007. Students, staff and teachers dressed down in purple, gold, and green to spread cheer.
Each year, Madame Vendetti arranges this wonderful celebration for our whole school. In the morning, the majors went on their yearly Mardi Gras parade. The creative writing majors won "most creative", visual art won for "best costume", and the vocal majors, unfortunately, won "best overall". The "best overall" title is the coveted prize that the arts classes work for each year. It seems like Ms. Rosemary and her choir will hold the bragging rights until next year's competition.
A lot of the other classes were also doing things related to the holiday. Coloring, reading, and singing Mardi Gras songs were all included in the day's fun. One student from each class could also be found with a crown on his or her head. This student was the lucky person who found the plastic baby in the cake that the French majors baked.
