Disney's Hit Band KSM Comes to Rock PPACS
Written By: Brittany Maxfield
October 23, 2008
Philadelphia Performing Arts welcomed KSM to rock our school on October 23rd, 2008 while they were on tour. Step by step, they discussed how they set up for a live concert and demonstrated how to prepare the proper equipment before performing. As they were rehearsing, two ladies from the organization, Inconvenient Youth, gave us a presentation about global warming and tried to share how important it is to take care of our Earth as a whole. The purpose of this presentation was to explain that one person can't solve global warming alone. We all need to work together and try to prevent this tragic problem that is ruining our planet.
When the presentation came to an end, we were introduced to the new band KSM. They started off by singing various new songs they wrote. One song they performed was called, "Hero in You". This song was written for gymnasts because they were currently on tour with them and the five girls looked up to these courageous people as heroes. As the concert came to an end, PPACS strived to hear more. Once the group agreed to perform once more, our audience went crazy cheering for the rockers. The excitement ran through the students as they stood up and danced along; moving the floor at every beat. Sadly, the group had to leave, but PPACS students were given autographs from each of the five girls to remember them forever.
