Cody Wise in The Scottsboro Boys
Posted May 2, 2010
Eighth grade student, Cody Wise, has returned to New York City. He is currently busy playing the roles of Eugene Williams and Little George in The Scottsboro Boys. From the shows debut in March, it has been receiving rave reviews from critics and show goers alike.
The show is a stirring new musical that explores the infamous 1930's 'Scottsboro Case', in which a group of innocent African-American teenagers are falsely accused of a terrible crime - ultimately provoking a national outrage that sparked the American Civil Rights movement.
The show is brought to us by the legendary songwriting team of John Kander and Fred Ebb (CABARET, CHICAGO, KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN). This riveting story is based on the book by David Thompson and is directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman. It is playing at Vineyard Theatre in New York City and runs through April 18, 2010.
