Creative Writing Student Wins National Essay Contest
May 26, 2009

Carli Mastantuno, one of our 8th grade creative writing students, was selected as one of the winners of the 2009 "Do the Write Thing" challenge. The contest is sponsored by the National Campaign to End Violence and is held yearly. Each year, students must write an essay or poem that focuses on probable causes and solutions to violence. Carli was honored for her achievement at an awards ceremony May 26th. While here, she received recognition for her efforts.

Carli's essay focused on the many problems that violent behavior creates. It especially dealt with the impact it has on both the people involved and the loved ones who surround them. We are all so proud of Carli and the exceptional work she has done!
